Retraction seven appears for Jesús Lemus

molecular ecologyThe retractions keep coming for Jesús A. Lemus. Here’s the notice for retraction seven, in Molecular Ecology:

The following article from Molecular Ecology, ‘MHC diversity and differential exposure to pathogens in kestrels (Aves: Falconidae)’ by Miguel Alcaide, Jesús A. Lemus, Guillermo Blanco, José L. Tella, David Serrano, Juan J. Negro, Airam Rodríguez and Marino García-Montijano, published online on 25 January 2010 in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), has been retracted by agreement between the authors (excluding Dr Jesús A. Lemus), the Journal Editor-in-Chief, Loren Rieseberg, and Blackwell Publishing Ltd. The retraction follows an internal investigation by the Ethics Committee of the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas – CSIC) into the work contributed by Dr Jesús A. Lemus. Although the MHC data provided in this paper are solid and robust and the associated DNA sequences can be safely downloaded from the GenBank database, the authors wish to retract this study given the doubts about the validity of the pathogen determinations conducted by Dr Jesús A. Lemus.

The study has been cited 26 times, according to Thomson Scientific’s Web of Knowledge.
