I fully agree with all what Dr. Ioannidis states. Where I struggle a bit is the singular context of companies aiming to keep the high ground of interpretation with meta-analysis and systematic reviews. Unfortunately I find that also other major interest groups spreading various dogma use the same approach, i.e. employ science to “prove” their point or use meta-analyses and systematic reviews to systematically support their predefined positions, the glyphosate discussion, the endocrine disruption and human health effects story as well as the anti-vaccination movement are just some examples, that provide a disservice to human health and good science.
