The following article from Animal Conservation, ‘Ingestion of multiple veterinary drugs and associated impact on vulture health: implications of livestock carcass elimination practices’ by G. Blanco, J. Á. Lemus, F. Martínez, B. Arroyo, M. García-Montijano and J. Grande, published online on 3 July 2009 in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), has been retracted by agreement between the authors: G. Blanco, F. Martínez, B. Arroyo and M. García-Montijano; The Zoological Society of London; the journal Editors: Karina Acevedo-Whitehouse, Res Altweg, Trevor Branch, Darren Evans, Trenton W.J. Garner, Mathew Gompper, Iain Gordon, Jeff A. Johnson, Todd Katzner and Nathalie Pettorelli; and Blackwell Publishing Ltd. The retraction has been agreed following an investigation by G. Blanco, F. Martínez, B. Arroyo and M. García-Montijano and by the Ethics Committee of the Spanish Superior Council of Scientific Research (CSIC), as a result of which the laboratory analyses supplied by J. Á. Lemus were found to be untrustworthy.
